A Beijing-based development group invited ACHA to design a prototype for a single-family house for sites in Mongolia and China. The basic house-type has two bedrooms with a design add-on option of a third bedroom. The houses are entered through a courtyard and the roofs are distinctively sloped to drain rainwater into the courtyard where it is collected, filtered, and then pumped through the houses and gardens for non-drinking purposes.

The design uses a shot concrete system for quick and cost-effective construction.  The finish materials include stone and wood siding, but vary depending on location and the availability of materials in the region.
