The clients for this historic townhouse just off Central Park, a prominent art historian and her husband, an Italian jewelry designer with a store steps away on Madison Avenue, engaged ACHA in preparing a report outlining the causes and types of damages to the façade for the owner’s presentation to their insurer. ACHA was further engaged to provide Construction Administration services during the restoration of the façade.

The scope of the restoration included repair and replacement of damaged brick and wood window elements, repointing at select locations, cleaning and repairing of sills, and restoration of exterior plaster

ACHA also submitted to the Landmarks Preservation Commission and Community Board proposals for the extension of the front yard to its former depth. While the extension was not approved, ACHA’s design for the front step renovation was ultimately built.
